Working with case attachments

When you submit a support case, you can add attachments such as log files, screenshots, or other files that might help the support team resolve your issue. At any time you can add more files, upload a new version of a file, download an attachment, and view or modify file details.

Accessing case attachments

To access attachments for a case:

  1. Log in to the Hyperproof Community. If you don't have a login, see Requesting a community login.

  2. At the top of the page, select the Support menu and then select My Cases.

  3. Locate the case with the attachments you want to access and click the case number to open the Case Details page.

  4. In the Attachments section, select the View All link to display a list of all attachments.

  5. Sort the list of attachments by clicking the column headings.

Once you have accessed the list of attachments for a case you can use the dropdown menu to work with your attachments.

Uploading attachments

  1. On the attachments list, click the Upload Files button.

  2. Browse to the file you want to upload and select it, then click the Open button.

  3. The Upload Files window indicates when the upload is complete. Click Done to close it.

    The new file displays in the list of attachments.

Uploading a new version

  1. On the attachments list, locate the attachment you want to update.

  2. Click the dropdown arrow at the end of the row for the attachment and select Upload New Version.

  3. Browse to the new version of the file, select it, and click Open.

  4. In the Upload New Version window, you can add a note about what changed.

  5. Click the Upload button to upload the new version of the attachment.

Downloading attachments

  1. On the attachments list, locate the attachment you want to download.

  2. Click the dropdown arrow at the end of the row for the attachment and select Download.

  3. The file downloads to your default downloads location.

Deleting attachments

  1. On the attachments list, locate the attachment you want to delete.

  2. Click the dropdown arrow at the end of the row for the attachment and select Delete.

  3. Click Delete in the confirmation window to delete the attachment.

Viewing file details

  1. On the attachments list, locate the attachment you want to view.

  2. Click the dropdown arrow at the end of the row for the attachment and select View File Details.

    The details page displays. You can preview the file, and view file size, file type, who the file is shared with, version number, followers, title, and description.

  3. To modify file details, click the Edit Details button at the top of the page.

    An Edit window displays.

  4. Modify the Title and Description fields as needed.

  5. Click the Save button to save your changes.

Editing file details

  1. On the attachments list, locate the attachment you want to edit.

  2. Click the dropdown arrow at the end of the row for the attachment and select Edit File Details.

  3. Modify the Title and Description fields as needed.

  4. Click the Save button to save your changes.
