Managing a policy approval marked Change requested

During the policy approval workflow, Hyperproof users are assigned approval tasks for specific policies. Approvers can mark the approval task as Approved or Request changes. If the approver selects Request changes, they are required to enter comments explaining what those changes are.

If any approver responds to their approval task by clicking Request changes, the Approval state of the policy is set to Change requested. The policy manager who initiated the approval receives a notification each time an individual responds with Request changes.

To address the Change requested status, change the stage of the policy version from Approval to Draft. This cancels any individual approval work items that have a status of Not started or In progress.

If LiveSync was on before the approval process started, it is turned on again when the policy version returns to a Draft stage.

To see approval feedback:

  1. From the left menu, select Policies.

  2. Select the policy being approved.

    The Details tab displays.

  3. Select the Approvals tab.

  4. Click the Card view button.

  5. For each card in the Change requested column:

    1. Click a card to open the individual approval work item.

    2. Review the Activity Feed comments provided by the approver.

    3. Make any necessary changes to the policy document being approved.

    4. Add a comment to the approval work item indicating that the approver comments have been addressed. If you @mention the approver's name, they receive a notification.

  6. When all comments have been addressed, configure a new policy approval. This creates new approval work items. See Initiating a policy approval.

This cycle can be repeated as many times as necessary to approve the policy document.
