Managing proof: Labels

Labels are designed to help you organize and manage proof. Without labels, you would have hundreds, or even thousands, of pieces of proof floating around Hyperproof!

Labels allow you to provide structure and taxonomy to the proof you upload. On top of that, you can assign ownership, set freshness, create tasks, and reuse proof across objects. Labels are similar to folders in that they can contain multiple pieces of proof. Rather than linking individual pieces of proof to a control, you can link those pieces of proof to a label and link the label instead.

Using labels allows for:

Reduction of clutter

Grouping and organizing your proof simplifies navigation and searching. The same piece of proof can be linked to multiple labels (just like using tags in other software apps).

Reusing proof across a set of controls

First, identify the controls that need the proof, and then link the label to them. After that, your job is easy—just add the proof to the label and it instantly becomes available to all control owners who need to access it.

Facilitating the collection of proof by team members and external contributors

Instead of giving them access to entire programs or controls, you can provide them with access only to the labels to which they need to contribute.
