Summary: Risk health
Below is a summary of how Hyperproof determines a risk’s overall health. For more in-depth information on this topic, refer to the Risk estimation method article.
To determine the overall health of a risk, follow the steps below. Numbers are based on your organization’s risk mapping.
To find the residual likelihood:
Determine the inherent likelihood.
Add likelihood mitigation percentages.
Determine residual likelihood: inherent likelihood x (100% - likelihood mitigation %). Round two decimal places.
To find the residual impact:
Determine the inherent impact.
Add impact mitigation percentages.
Determine residual impact: inherent likelihood x (100% - likelihood mitigation %). Round two decimal places.
To find the overall mitigation:
Determine the inherent risk: inherent likelihood x inherent risk.
Determine residual risk: residual likelihood x residual impact.
Determine overall mitigation: (inherent risk - residual risk) / inherent risk.
