Service principal defined

A service principal counts as a user in Hyperproof, but it cannot be any type of user that is expected to take action on something, e.g. an assignee or contact.

If a service principal creates an object, e.g. a risk or request, a regular Hyperproof user can select a member of the organization to be the default owner of all items that the service principal creates. Once the object is created, it’s visible in Hyperproof , just like any other object.

Because a service principal needs to be a manager or contributor of an object to make changes to it, the service principal appears in the object’s facepile just like any other user who is a member of the object.
