Service principal defined

A service principal counts as a user in Hyperproof, but it cannot be any type of user that is expected to take action on something, e.g. an assignee or contact.

If a service principal creates an object, e.g. a risk or request, a regular Hyperproof user can select a member of the organization to be the default owner of all items that the service principal creates. Once the object is created, it’s visible in Hyperproof just like any other object.

Because a service principal needs to be a manager or contributor of an object to make changes to it, the service principal appears in the object’s facepile just like any other user who is a member of the object.
