Setting up your Business Intelligence (BI) application

When your Snowflake data warehouse is configured and collecting Hyperproof data, you are ready to configure the BI tool you plan to use to generate reports and dashboards. The steps for configuration vary by application but will require similar information.

Note

Snowflake supports a wide variety of BI tools. See Business Intelligence in the Snowflake documentation for a complete list. For the latest information on how to connect to Snowflake and best practices for using BI tools with Snowflake, consult the Snowflake documentation and support, and support for the third-party tool that you chose.

Information that you may need to connect your BI application to your data warehouse:

  • Select Snowflake as your data warehouse.

  • Provide the following authentication information:

    • Server- This is your Snowflake account identifier or account URL.

For your Hyperproof data warehouse the account identifier is hyperproof-analytics and the account URL is:

      • Hyperproof US - https://hyperproof-analytics.snowflakecomputing.com/

      • Hyperproof EU - https://hyperperoof-analytics-eu.snowflakecomputing.com/

      • Hyperproof Gov - https://hyperperoof-analytics-gov.snowflakecomputing.com

    • User name - This is the user name you configured in Hyperproof when you set up your Snowflake account.

    • Password - This is the password you configured in Hyperproof when you set up your Snowflake account.

Once you connect to Snowflake you'll see a data warehouse for your Hyperproof organization similar to: HYPERPROOF_PRODUCTION. The data warehouse contains a HYPERPROOF database and schema for your organization with views for all available data objects. For more information, see Hyperproof Self-service reporting data model.
