Widget customization options vary based on the chart type selected. For details about accessing the widget Customize tab and other chart types, see Widget customization.
A bar chart or bar graph is a chart or graph that presents categorical data with rectangular bars with heights or lengths proportional to the values that they represent. The bars can be plotted vertically or horizontally, allowing you to compare data across categories or track changes over time. To create a Bar Chart, at least two columns in the dataset are required—one for categories and another for values. Bar charts consist of the following types:
Horizontal Bar Chart - Data categories are displayed along the Y-axis with bars extending horizontally.
Vertical Bar Chart - Data categories are displayed along the X-axis with bars extending vertically.
After creating a Bar chart, you can modify the chart to enhance its appearance. Additional customizations include:
Color - Customize the bar color for visual distinction.
Data Label - Enable data labels to show the actual values on each bar.
Data Label Color - Adjust the color of data labels to improve readability and contrast against the bar colors.

Note
The example data shown here is for illustration purposes only and does not exist by default in your organization.
Walk through this sample configuration to create a bar chart showing the number of vendors created each month.
On the Chart Type tab, select Bar chart as the chart type. Choose either Horizontal or Vertical orientation based on your preference.
On the Configure data tab, under Select fields, choose the field representing a unique vendor identifier, such as Entity ID, and Created At, representing the date the vendors were created.
Under Data transformation, apply a transformation on the Created At field to display it in a Month-Year format.
Under Aggregation, add a Count aggregation to the Entity ID field to get the total number of vendors created for each month.
Under Group by, select the transformed Created At field to organize data by month. Turn on the Sort by key flag to sort the column in ascending order.
