Changing the target on a single task

Roles and permissions

The following roles can change a task target:

  • Administrators who are managers of the task

  • Compliance managers who are managers of the task

Each task in Hyperproof has a target where proof attached to the task is uploaded when the task is submitted. Sometimes, you may need to modify the target. For example, if your organization moves to a more granular set of controls, you may need to change the target on some existing tasks. See Changing targets for tasks for additional details about changing targets.

When accessing a task to change the associated target, you can go to the associated object and open the task list or you can go to Work items and find the task there.

To change a target on a task:

  1. From the left menu, select Work items.

  2. On the Work items page, select the Tasks tab.

Tasks display in columns based on their current status.

  3. Scroll to or use the filters to locate the task you want to update and click the Task card to open it.

    The Task window displays.

  4. Hover over the Target field and click the pencil icon.

    The Link objects window displays.

    Note

Only the objects where you have permission to create tasks are displayed. You can only select one target for a task. If you don't have high enough permission for an object, it doesn't display. For example, if you have inherited permission for a control it does not display.

  5. Select the new target object and click the Link button.

The new target displays in the Task window.
