Remediating issues with tasks

Roles and permissions

The following roles can link a task to an issue:

Administrators
Compliance managers
Users

Tasks are the core of how you’ll remediate issues in Hyperproof. Assign tasks to different parts of your team to carry out your action plan.

Tasks linked to issues work the same as they do in other areas of Hyperproof. When an issue arises, you can create a task on the issue to help you to plan, track, and delegate activities necessary for remediation.

To link a task to an issue:

From the left menu, select the tab that corresponds with the issue. For example, if you want to remediate an issue that's linked to a control, select the Controls tab.
Select the specific object. For example, if you want to link the task to control ID 1234, select that control.
Select the Issues tab.
Select the issue.
In the right pane, scroll to Tasks, and then click + Task.
The Task window opens.
Do any or all of the following:
- Enter a name for the task (required)
  Tip
  Task titles have a 250-character limit.
- Enter a description
  The following rich text formatting is supported: bulleted and numbered lists, headings, links, code, emojis, bold, italic, and strikethrough.
- Change any of the following by hovering over and clicking the Edit icon. Note that the task's status cannot be changed until the task is created.
  Assignee (by default, the task is assigned to the task creator)
  Note
  The task assignee sees the Submit status when the task is in progress. If the assignee reassigns the task to someone else, the status changes to In progress.
  Note
  Email notifications are not sent if the individual creating the task is also the assignee. If the assignee is different from the individual creating the task, the assignee receives an email notification indicating that they've been assigned a task.
  Due date (this is the number of days out that you want the task to be due)
  Priority

  Proof cannot be linked until the task is created. When proof is uploaded, it's linked to the task and is visible in the task's proof area. The proof remains linked to the task until the task is submitted and closed.
  When the task is closed, the proof can be found in the task's proof area, the linked object's Proof tab—e.g. the Proof tab of a control—, and in the organization's main proof list. This activity can be observed in the task's Activity Feed.
Click Create.
The task is created.
