Only administrators can create a custom field
Tip
Number of custom fields allowed per organization: 1000
Maximum number of characters per field name: 30
Number of custom fields that can be linked to scopes: 4
Multi-line text field limit: 65,535
Creating values for select fields
Maximum number of characters per single line text field: 50
Maximum number of values per field: 500
To create a custom field:
From the left menu, select Settings.
Select Custom fields.
Click New.
Below Select field type, select the type of field you want to add.
Below Field name, enter a name for the custom field.
Below Available on, select the checkbox next to the object that the custom field applies to. You can select more than one object.
Note
Custom fields only appear on objects that they’ve been explicitly added to. For example, for the custom field to be visible when creating a task, the Tasks checkbox must be selected.
Optionally, select the Controls checkbox to configure the custom field for scope assignments. From the Scope Assignment Behavior drop-down menu, select how the scope assignment should be managed:
Managed by the parent control - Follows the current behavior of custom fields. The field is read-only to scope assignment members.
Independent - Behaves like Hyperproof's Notes feature. Each child control has its editable value and the parent control has an editable value as well.
Below Field symbol, select a symbol to denote the custom field.
Below Required field?, select whether the custom field is required or not required.
Note
This field only applies to Single select, Multiple select, Date picker, Multi-line text, and Number fields.
Below Values, enter the number of options (values) to choose from.
Note
This field only applies to Single select and Multiple select fields.
Below Format, select decimal or percentage.
Note
This field only applies to Number fields.
Click Create.
The custom field is created.
