Self-service reporting
Hyperproof's Self-service reporting and analytics options are powered by a Snowflake data warehouse. Using Self-service reporting you can access your Hyperproof data and use best-in-class business intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Looker, Microsoft Power BI, Sigma, Metabase, and more, to create reports and dashboards. See Business Intelligence in the Snowflake documentation for a complete list.
Note
Snowflake supports a wide variety of BI tools. See Business Intelligence in the Snowflake documentation for a complete list. For the latest information on how to connect to Snowflake and best practices for using BI tools with Snowflake, consult the Snowflake documentation and support, and support for the third-party tool that you chose.
When working with Self-service reporting, consider the following:
The data warehouse is updated with your data by a synchronization process initiated daily at 12:00 and 20:00 UTC. This means that the data is a snapshot in time. It is not updated in real-time.
Caution
The data warehouse contains all data from Hyperproof. If you need to limit visibility for certain audiences, you may need to filter the data.
Self-service reporting must be enabled by Hyperproof to be displayed in your organization.
The Snowflake data warehouse defaults to the public schema. When querying the data warehouse for Hyperproof data, ensure you access the HYPERPROOF database and schema for your organization. If you attempt to query in a different schema your queries may fail.
Snowflake goes into a suspended state when no queries are being processed. If you access Snowflake directly and see that your data warehouse has a status of Suspended, this indicates that there are no queries to process. The data warehouse for Hyperproof is configured with auto-resume enabled. When new queries are requested the warehouse will process them.
To configure and use Self-service reporting:
Configure a Snowflake service account and password through the Hyperproof Settings options. See Connecting to your Snowflake data warehouse.
Configure the connection between your Snowflake data warehouse and your Business intelligence (BI) tool. See Setting up your Business Intelligence (BI) application.
Review the information on the Hyperproof data model. See Hyperproof Self-service reporting data model.
Use Snowsight, a browser-based tool provided by Snowflake, to work with your Snowflake data and manage your Snowflake service account. See Using Snowsight.
Add additional users to the data warehouse if needed. See Managing self-service reporting users.
