Widget customization - Data card chart
Note
This option pertains to the Hyperproof TPRM product line.
Widget customization options vary based on the chart type selected. For details about accessing the widget Customize tab and other chart types, see Widget customization.
The Data Card is a chart type specifically designed to display a single, summarized data point. This visualization is ideal for showing metrics like:
Total count of items
Sum of values
Average values
Examples include:
Total vendors
Upcoming renewals count
Total contract value
Total requests
Additional customizations:
After converting your data to a Data Card, you have further customization options to tailor the appearance and presentation of the card to meet specific needs or branding requirements. These customization features enhance the readability and aesthetic appeal of the Data Card, making it easy to effectively highlight key metrics. Options include:
Color - Select a color that best represents the data or aligns with your brand's color scheme.
Title and Subtitle - Add a title to label the data being shown, such as "Total Vendors", and a subtitle for additional context if needed.
Prefix and Suffix - Include any prefixes, such as "$" for currency, or suffixes, such as "%" for percentages, to make the data clearer and more informative.
Icons - Choose an icon to visually represent the data, such as a shopping cart for total sales, a people icon for total vendors, to make the Data Card more intuitive.
Usage requirements
The Data Card only operates on a single row of data because it is designed to display a single, consolidated data value. It does not support multiple rows; only one aggregated metric or summary can be represented at a time.
Example configuration:
Walk through this sample configuration to create a Data Card that displays the total number of vendors.
On the Chart Type tab, select Data Card as the chart type.
On the Configure data tab, under Select fields, choose the field representing a unique vendor identifier, such as Entity ID.
Under Aggregation, apply the Count aggregation function to the Entity ID field to calculate the total number of vendors.
This configuration displays a single Data Card with the total count of vendors based on the data in the table. This visual approach is helpful in presenting quick insights or KPIs for single metric tracking.
