Data types for table columns

Data type

Definition

Action

A button or link that performs a specific action, such as triggering a workflow to start a project.

Binary

Toggle or binary input for boolean fields, such as Yes/No or True/False.

Checkbox

A predefined list of options presented as checkboxes; multiple values can be selected.

Child table

A list of Hyperproof TPRM tables. if selected, the child table is nested within another table.

Country

A list of countries.

Currency

A number field that supports numeric values, but presents them in a currency format, such as $100.00.

Date

Select a specific date from a date picker.

Duration

A time field that supports a time duration.

Email

A text field with email with validation.

Entity

A drop-down list of Hyperproof TPRM entities, such as a catalog type.

File upload

A field for uploading and managing files. Useful for attaching documents, such as contracts, terms, or PDF files.

Multi-select

A list of values from a predefined list; multiple values can be selected.

Number

A number field that supports only numeric values.

Phone

A text field with phone number validation.

Picklist

A hierarchical list selection

Project

A drop-down list of Hyperproof TPRM projects.

Radio

A predefined list of options presented as radio buttons; multiple values can be selected.

Rich text

Advanced text editor supporting formatting, lists, and embedded files.

Score

A rating field, for example, on a scale from 1 to 10.

Simple Text

A free-form text field.

Single select

A predefined list of options; only one value can be selected.

A list of Hyperproof TPRM tables.

Teams

A drop-down list of Hyperproof TPRM teams.

URL

A URL field with validation.

Users

A drop-down list of Hyperproof TPRM users.

Workflow

A drop-down list of Hyperproof TPRM workflows.



Text field subtypes

When configuring a text column, you can specify a subtype to enhance functionality and appearance:

  1. Create a column with a Text data type. See Adding custom columns to tables.

  2. In the Subtype field on the Add Column window, select one of the following:

    • Simple Text - Displays an empty text field.

    • Email - Displays with an email icon and validates email format.

    • Phone - Displays with a phone icon and validates phone format.

    • URL - Displays with a link icon and becomes a clickable hyperlink.

    • Country - Displays in a special format for country information.

  3. Click Save.
