Configuring a child table

Note

This option pertains to the Hyperproof TPRM product line.

Child table configuration allows the nesting of one table within another, creating a hierarchical relationship. After setting up the configuration, the parent table displays the child table within its rows. You can add data to both the parent and child tables directly from the user interface. The result is a nested structure where you can view and manage data in both parent and child tables seamlessly.

  1. Create the parent and child tables. See Creating a table.

  2. In the parent table, add a column of type Table Reference. See Adding custom columns to tables.

  3. In the column configuration, select the table you want to be the child table.

  4. Choose the columns to import from the referenced child table.

    You can select multiple columns.

  5. Click Save.

  6. In the child table, add a column of type Child Table.

  7. In the column configuration, select the Column Key, which is the reference column created in the parent table.

  8. Choose the columns to import as child columns.

  9. Click Save.
