Closing tasks
Roles and permissions
The following roles can close a task:
Anyone who is a manager on a task.
Contributors who own the task, if the manager only restriction has not been set by Hyperproof.
Tasks allow users to ask other members of their organization for proof or to remind themselves of something they need to get done. When a task has been completed, its status should be set to Closed to indicate to the organization that the work is done. Depending on your configuration, there are different ways to close tasks.
Note
Hyperproof can restrict the ability to close tasks to only managers upon request. Contact Hyperproof Support for assistance at support@hyperproof.io.
Manually closing a task
You can manually close an individual task by opening it and setting its status to Closed. See Changing the task status for instructions.
Bulk closing tasks
From the Work items > Tasks tab, you can select multiple tasks and set the status for those tasks all at once. See Editing tasks in bulk.
Closing tasks during the approval workflow
If a task is configured to go through an approval process, Hyperproof automatically closes it when it is approved. See Completing an approval.
Closing tasks from a Jira task integration
If a Hyperproof task is linked to a Jira task, closing the Jira task also closes the Hyperproof task. If a Hyperproof task is linked to a ServiceNow or Asana task, closing the ServiceNow or Asana task sets the Hyperproof task to Submitted.
