Creating a Jira issue via Hyperproof

  1. Create a new task. If you are unsure of how to create a task, refer to Creating a task. Note that Hyperproof task titles have a 250-character limit.

  2. Click a field to edit the task name, description, assignee, due date, priority, and target.

  3. If this is your first time using the Jira integration, follow the steps below. If you’ve already signed in to Jira in Hyperproof, skip to step 4.

    1. Click the Jira integration icon in the upper-right corner.

      The Authorize app window opens.

    2. Click Accept.

      The Authorize Hyperproof window opens.

    3. Click Allow.

  4. Click the Jira integration icon, and then select Create a new issue from this task.

  5. Enter the following information:

    • Jira project (required)

    • Jira issue type (required)

    • Jira labels

    • Triage

    • Fix versions

    • Story points

    • Priority

    • Scrum team

    • Spec status

  6. Click Create.

Troubleshooting

Time out error

If you receive a time out error while attempting to create a Jira issue in Hyperproof, it’s more than likely due to your Hyperproof connection remaining open for an extended period of time. To resolve this issue, follow the steps below.

  1. From the left menu, select Settings.

  2. Select Connected accounts.

  3. From the list of connections, select Jira.

  4. Click Disconnect.

  5. Navigate back to the task, and then click the Jira integration icon.

  6. Select Create a new issue from this task. Follow steps 5 and 6 in the previous section.
